Question by noodleseatpie: Would it be a worth it for me to purchase a Kindle?
I’m a college student, and I definitely really like reading. With most books becoming priced in between 7.99 and 9.99 for paperbacks, and a ridiculous 16.99 to 20 some dollars for hardcovers. I typically don’t acquire hardcovers, but there are a couple of series I just can’t stand waiting to acquire. I’ve been unable, recently, to acquire a lot of books because of limited space and funding. I’m moving out of my home into a relative’s smaller residence, and will be given a smaller bedroom. As a result, I can’t take much with me.

I’ve been searching into a Kindle for this reason. If I acquire an e-reader, I’m getting the Kindle hands down, so this is a lot more about if I must purchase an e-reader, not which one.

With space limited to preserve physical copies of books, the allure of free or inexpensive ( from .99 cents to 2.99, and a huge savings on hardcover and ‘large copy’ books like Water for Elephants ) books, the Kindle seems much more and more practical. I could take it to the college with me, which is 20 minutes away from my home, to read even though waiting in among classes ( which can be hours ). If I finish 1 book, a Kindle would let me read a second without having taking up any much more room in my purse or backpack. The quantity of books a college kid has to carry around is pretty hefty, so anything to maintain the weight down would have to be remarkable.

There is only a few issues stopping me from operating out and obtaining one, appropriate now. I love books. I adore how they really feel, appear, smell they are just amazing. I do not frequently loan them out to friends, as most of mine aren’t avid readers like me, and I’m very protective over my issues. I do not crease the pages or the covers, I do not stain them. They are in excellent condition. Due to the fact of this, I don’t buy employed books. My books are brand new, nearly every time – an expense I cannot preserve up with. A Kindle would be good for the cash it would save me on some of those totally free/.99 cent books, but it won’t really feel the very same… or will it? I’ve heard reviewers say it’s like reading a book, and they hardly notice the difference after the initial shock of e-reading.

Would it be worth it to purchase a Kindle, or would it be a stupid move?

The second issue is that a lot of the books I’ve looked at are either far more costly as e-books, or are the same price. There are SO Numerous cost-free and low cost books, that when you see some e-books becoming 9.99 when they price only 7.99 in shop is sort of… ridiculous? They shouldn’t be that costly. Some savings on paperback books only equal out to 2 – 3 dollars, without tax. That being stated, the gas saved and without having tax, plus the instant gratification of getting the book, could level out. I’m not sure it will truly save me funds in the end, and that is what I’m searching to do – as properly as have a handy way to carry books ( individual novels, not textbooks ) to college and elsewhere with no getting to carry 2 – three paperback books, as that would give space difficulties.

If the e-books are less expensive, it may possibly be worth it to invest in the Kindle…

But I agree that true-life books are oh so significantly greater.
